The reason for this is that it slows down the server for other customers and can cause our servers to be blacklisted if a center doesn't maintain a proper, up-to-date, opt-out email list. For this reason we and many other webhosts will always recommend a dedicated email marketing solution, as these offer special designed environments to facilitate mass emailing in a safe a effective way.

If your center is a listed non-profit then you qualify for a free account with Vertical Response. They will allow you to send to 10,000 email addresses every month for free and give you 15% off any extra. Check out their non-profit program.
